Released on May 27, 2022, and one of the most anticipated films of all time, Top Gun: Maverick turned out to be a massive success for Hollywood, Paramount Pictures and met the expectations of an eager worldwide audience. Not only did it pleasantly surprise the vast majority of viewers, it was also a love letter to aviation and really did justice to the original Top Gun film (1986). The worldwide gross collection of Top Gun: Maverick is reported to be $1.5 billion. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film starred Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell and Jon Hamm amongst others.
