Speaking to Mid-day, Raveena reveald that she had started out as an intern at ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar’s office, despite being filmmaker Ravi Tandon’s daughter. “I did start from cleaning the studio floors to wiping off vomit from the stalls floors and studio floors and stuff, and I did assist Prahlad Kakkar I think straight out of 10th Standard. Even at that time they used to say what are you doing behind the screen, you have to be in front of the screen, that is what’s meant for you and I would be like ‘no no, me, an actress? Never.’ So I am in this industry actually by default, never grew up thinking that I am going to be an actor,” she was quoted saying.
Earlier, while speaking to ETimes about South films being brought to the Hindi audience and the instrumental role of her husband in film distribution, Raveena had said, “A lot of credit should go to him because he has been instrumental from bringing Baahubali, to Pushpa, to KGF, to all these films and believing in them and having faith. I remember Prashanth saying that the first time I showed KGF to Anil sir, it was 8 hours long, and he sat for all those 8 hours and watched KGF one. He still had that faith in us at the time where even we weren’t sure what we were doing. To bring us and make this into a pan India film, I think that’s the thing about Anil, he’s very perceptive, he knows where and how to pick the kind of films that he does.”
In ‘KGF 2’, Raveena plays the role of Prime Minister Ramika Sen. She will soon be seen in ‘Ghudchadi’, a romantic comedy that also stars Sanjay Dutt and Aruna Irani among others.
