Netizens are miffed with Kareena Kapoor Khan’s latest advertisement. The actress, who is the face of a jewellery brand, recently unveiled a picture promoting the auspicious Hindu festival of Akshaya Tritiya. In the picture, Kareena dons a glittering lehenga accessorised with gold jewellery, but there is no bindi on her forehead; that has upset the Twitterati. Several netizens even called to boycott the brand and trolled Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Recently, Akshay Kumar had also landed in soup because of his endorsement of a tobacco brand. Ardent fans of the actor slammed him for endorsing the product, which eventually led to Akshay stepping down. He immediately disassociated from the tobacco brand and apologised to his fans.

In his social media statement, Akshay had shared, “I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes.” Akshay’s move had received support from Milind Soman, who wrote, “you made the right choice, whatever the reason!” while Juhi Chawla had replied to Akshay’s tweet, “Respect”.
