New Delhi: BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi was arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut by the Noida Police on Tuesday, reported news agency ANI. The move comes after a video of Tyagi surfaced online where he could be seen threatening and assaulting a resident of the housing complex in Noida’s Sector 93. A day before illegal properties belonging to Tyagi were rased down by Noida authorities.
On Sunday, some men supporting Tyagi barged the residential complex after which seven of them were arrested and taken for interrogation, the police had said.

Six police officials were also suspended in this case over laxity said UP ADG (law and order) Prashant Kumar as reported by news agency PTI. Two personal security officers had also been provided to the woman complainant in the case, said UP ADG.
