‘Boycott Pathaan’ trends on Twitter post the release of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika

The first song of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Pathaan’ released on Monday. While a huge section of the audience seems impressed and can’t stop gushing over SRK and Deepika Padukone’s beach looks and chemistry, there are also many who’ve not liked the portrayal. Some think that the song looks cheap, others have also opposed to the use of the colour ‘safron’ in the last portion of the song.

Netizens also compared the song with the recent release from the south, ‘Kantaara’. One user wrote, “The difference between a South Indian film which pays tribute to our Bharatiya culture & traditions & a Bollywoodiya dirt which latches on to obscenity for gaining some success. No wonder the former is a blockbuster & no one watches the latter. #BollywoodKiGandagi #BoycottPathaan

Some users also think that the use of the colour ‘safron’ was not needed and the makers been disrespectful.

Moreover, wearing safron when the song is called ‘Besharam Rang’ is what seems to have irked the netizens.

A banker strongly felt that there is bankruptcy of ideas, hence, assets are being flaunted in the song by Deepika.

‘Pathaan’ is set to release on January 25, 2023. The film also stars John Abraham and is directed by Siddharth Anand.
